I’m thinking here about Caleb ending up pregnant pre-canon, whether during his time in the asylum or after he escapes. I love the Caleb & Nott precanon dynamic, and I would love to see what adding a pregnancy would do to it. This can be cis mpreg via magic or any other means, trans man Caleb, omega Caleb in an omegaverse AU, or any other setup you’d like.

For Ikithon as the impregnator, perhaps he keeps visiting Caleb in the asylum to rape him. The pregnancy could be intentional – maybe Ikithon specifically causes it with a spell, and he has a reason to want Caleb to have a child (if you want to get really fucked up, maybe Ikithon keeps the babies to raise as perfect magic soldiers or something) – or maybe Ikithon just doesn’t care and has been getting Caleb abortions whenever he gets pregnant, and this time Caleb escapes before Ikithon can. This would need to be a timeline AU to have Veth and Caleb meet while he’s still pregnant, I know, but I really wanted both Ikithon knocking Caleb up and Veth helping Caleb deal with the pregnancy.

For the stranger, this could be a sexual encounter or rape that happened in the asylum, someone Caleb hooked up with after his escape, a john who paid Caleb for sex, a rape or dubcon situation while Caleb’s on the run, etc etc.

Caleb in denial about a pregnancy, and/or ignoring it as much as he can because it reminds him of the rape or (dubiously?)-consensual-but-not-enjoyable sex that caused it, seems in-character and very fun to read. Especially if Veth figures out he’s pregnant and makes him confront it.

Caleb not remembering the conception was specifically geared towards a rape that happened while he was all mind-fucked in the asylum, but it could also apply to post-escape rape/dubcon! I love how much more fucked up the aftermath of the asylum would be if, after his escape, Caleb comes to the slow realization that he’s pregnant, especially if this is mpreg caused by magic or something where pregnancy normally wouldn’t be possible. See above re: necessary timeline AU.

For the abortion tag, I feel like this is something Veth might have expertise in with her alchemy background, or maybe she just knows where to find a doctor/cleric/etc who can carry out an abortion. I just want Veth taking her first step towards protecting Caleb by helping him end his pregnancy.

And if you don’t go the abortion route, I’m also very interested in what Caleb ends up doing with the baby and how that might change the plotline of Campaign 2. (Or maybe Veth just leaves the baby on Yeza’s doorstep, haha!) I’m totally down for a story solely focused on pregnant Caleb, but if you want to include some of Caleb being a dad post-birth too, I am very down.

I just really love AUs where the characters are foster kids and/or parents. You can set in a modern AU (I love seeing how people translate the characters’ fantasy backstories to a mundane setting!), or you can keep it in Exandria (and I am especially partial to AUs where Vox Machina end up accidentally inventing Social Services). As the tags state, I’m down for any combination of characters here! Doesn’t have to be a formal adoption or foster situation, especially if you keep it in a canon setting. We’ve got some characters with bad parents (Beau) and some with bad guardians (Caleb) where it woul dmake sense for them to get rescued by Vox Machina, and I’m down for however you want to get the kid!Mighty Nein into Vox Machina’s guardianship. With Tary living in Wildmounte, it might make sense for him to encounter these kids and end up taking them in and/or taking them to any of the other members of Vox Machina to care for. I didn’t request Baby!MN because I like my adopted/fostered/etc kids old enough to talk a bit.

I have spent way too much time thinking and not writing about a foster kid AU of the Mighty Nein, so I do have some specific ideas for all of them, which you are very free to ignore if you want! But if you would like them, I’ve put them under a cut below:

• Fjord is already an orphan, so that’s easy


• I imagine Tary attending a dinner with the Lionetts, and getting very protective when he sees Thoreau being nasty and somehow ending up confiscating Beau (perhaps this is after her brother is born so her dad is fairly willing to let her go)


• Jester’s mom gives her to someone else to raise to keep her safe


• The whole thing with the Blooming Grove happens when Caduceus is younger, and he ends up either abandoned or (if you want to get really angsty) his whole family dies except for him and one of Vox Machina finds this kid surrounded by the corpses of all of his family members


• Yasha could fall for Zuala and run earlier in her life, or (and this is especially off the wall) what if she was kidnapped by someone nefarious and forced to fight to the death or somehow otherwise literally kill Zuala in an aasimar/”exotic species”/etc fighting ring?


• Amnesiac kid Mollymauk found wandering is a gimme


• Maybe the goblin attack also happens earlier and Veth’s family is killed (whether or not she still gets transformed into a goblin is up to you)


• Ikithon ends up interacting with the de Rolos somehow (maybe he sends Caleb as a diplomatic liaison or something) and they simply refuse to return Caleb once they figure out what Ikithon has done to him. Feel free to have Astrid and/or Eadwulf tag along as well

These are the same ships/prompts/tags as my Legend of Vox Machina request – the things I like about my incest ships are pretty much the same between canons.

I ship both of these pairings consensually, but I also love forced incest in a fuck-or-die situation. There are lots of canon villains you could pull from, or have an OC who just wants to force these siblings to fuck. (The Briarwoods would be a great fit for Percy and Cassandra – maybe they’re trying to create a line of de Rolo children they can mold into an obedient puppet ruler.) And a pregnancy after that fuck or die situation is the perfect way to keep that trauma coming!

I’m also into accidental pregnancies, with the ship having to decide if they want to keep the baby (and presumably lie about its paternity) or get an abortion. (Either choice, or a miscarriage, is good with me!) The miscarriage tag could fit well with this or the fuck or die scenario.

And intentional incestuous pregnancies are also great! For the de Rolo siblings, I can see the ancestors of their family maybe having a history of incestuous marriages, and Percy and Cassandra carrying that on to preserve the family line (or perhaps they just find that after their tragic backstories, they’re the only ones who understand each other). For Vex and Vax, I can see them wanting to make their own family after losing their mom and being mistreated by their dad.

For the woman passing as a man, I am happy for this relationship to end in marriage (or start as a marriage if she offers to marry the pregnant woman to preserve her reputation!), and also for you to set it in any historical or fantasy setting you like. For the other two, I’m fascinated by the dichotomy in reputation here, and how that might impact their relationship with a pregnancy in either direction. Also happy for a fantasy setting with historical vibes.
