Hello, Darkest Night writer/artist! I’m also plutonianshores on AO3, and I have several previous letters on this journal if you want to look back at what I’ve requested in past exchanges.

You are welcome to include any of the major Archive warnings, i.e. rape, graphic violence, character death (canonical or noncanonical), and/or underage, in your gift, as well as any rating from G to E. And feel free to include any of your favorite kinks! Barring my DNWs, I am into literally everything, my biggest turnon is reading fic or seeing art with the creator’s fave kinks included. I also have no preference for top/bottom or dom/sub choices in any ships if you’re writing/drawing porn.

In a few fandoms I’ve requested ships, but for the most part I’ve stuck to requesting characters. I would still love any shipfic/art gifts (although of course I would also love to receive gen), and am open to any ships including my requested characters that I didn’t DNW. Seriously, I ship pretty much everything in my requested fandoms. If you are also an indecisive multishipper like I am, I’ve listed a few favorite ships in each request. DNWs:

Dublin Murder Squad Series - Tana French Favorite Ships: Cassie/Rob/Sam, Frank/Stephen, Frank/Scorcher

So many of these characters are trying to keep from looking vulnerable in front of others, and I’d love to see them forced to the breaking point in a fanwork Characters/Ships

• Cassie Maddox: the events of In the Woods and The Likeness both offer great opportunities for Cassie darkfic/whump, and I would love to see something set during canon, although throwing Cassie into more traumatic situations pre- or post-canon is also very welcome!
• Frank Mackey: I feel like Frank needs to be in control first and foremost, and I’d love to see what happens when he completely loses control over what’s happening to him
• Rob Ryan: canon already whumps Rob pretty hard, and something set during In the Woods or during his childhood is very welcome. I’m also into something happening to him post-In the Woods that necessitates reaching back out to Cassie – maybe she’s still his emergency contact when he lands unconscious in the hospital?
• Sam O'Neill: Sam’s life is so normal compared to Rob and Cassie, and I’d love to see a work focused on what might happen if he was pushed to his breaking point. I’m also very here for any and all excuses to put Sam undercover
• Stephen Moran: I love Stephen’s ambition and also his relationships with Frank and Antoinette, and I’d love to see him trying and failing to hide the aftermath of something bad from either of them

• Aftermath - victim unable to hide evidence of rape from others: I would love one of the characters being raped while caught alone during an investigation, and trying and failing to hide that from their partner/colleagues/lover/s afterwards. Could go especially well with an undercover mission
• Altered States - Character forgets they are undercover: so a few of my requested characters have canonically gone undercover, but feel free to invent any scenario you want to get any of them undercover (or just don’t explain it!) I love the idea of one of them completely fucking up like this, and the danger that would put them in plus the humiliation of ruining the case. I’m especially imagining this in combination with being nonconsensually drugged or forced by circumstance to do drugs or drink more alcohol than wise

• Alternate Universe - Tam Lin Fusion: I feel like the vague supernatural/folkloric themes in the series would fit well with a Tam Lin AU, and I’d be interested in any ship (romantic or platonic) cast as the Janet and the Tam Lin. Or perhaps one of them is set to investigate a living John Doe, a strange amnesiac man who showed up naked on the edge of some forest insisting he had been stolen by the fairies, and finds themselves in danger of crossing the Fairy Queen
• Bargaining - Victim Offers/Sacrifices Self to Protect Others: whether stepping in front of a bullet, offering themselves up for rape, blowing their own cover as a mole in order to divert suspicion from their partner, or something else
• BDSM - Masochistic sub thinks they deserve genuine punishment
• BDSM- Masochistic sub asks for more pain than they really want: for this and the prior tag, I really love the sub being deep into self-loathing, and the dom being horrified when they find out that the sub has basically been using them for self-harm

I especially love when both characters have been pining after each other but neither has actually told the other, and the fuck or die situation is their first time together, although I also have a soft spot for fuck or die between people who have no interest in each other sexually

• Dub/Noncon - Rape Aftermath: for cop characters, I love that they already have a work view of how medical care after rape and rape investigations go, and how that might influence their actions, and knowing that if they report the rape, their colleagues will find out. I am very into medical care and/or getting cleaned up afterwards (possibly with the aid of another character if you’re doing shipfic/art)
• Dub/Noncon - Rape recording sent to victim's loved ones: oh man, the humiliation of knowing that your loved ones have seen one of the worst moments of your life...I’m also into the recording getting sent to the police station, or possibly live-streamed after the victim is kidnapped and their coworkers have to watch it to figure out how to save them
• Dub/noncon - Rapist Takes Photos/Video: I love the humiliation of knowing that this is going to be permanently preserved, and not knowing what the rapist is going to do with these recordings
• Fuck or die - Forced to Rape Them or Let Them Be Raped by the Aggressor: I love the top trying to be gentle, and every moment of pain they cause the other party tearing them up inside
• Fuck or Die - In front of an audience/camera
• Ghosts: Listen I love all forms of ghost stories and would especially love any of the characters investigating a case that involves a ghost. I’m very into seeing the characters trying and failing to rationalize what’s happening. Ghostly hitchhikers are a personal favorite as well, maybe one of them gives a ride to a vanishing hitchhiker who they later recognize from a missing persons file
• Hurt/Comfort - Recovery from a week long captivity and tortures: I would especially love the victim trying to go back to normal too fast, and/or reacting to how their coworkers and loved ones see them differently now, and/or having to grudgingly accept help from their loved ones
• Injuries - Career Ending Injuries: I am very into a look at what would happen after sustaining an injury that makes policing impossible (traumatic brain injury? Loss of limb?) and their adjustment to abrupt forced retirement. I also love potentially awkward interactions with colleagues/loved ones, with the other parties being too gentle and cautious at first
• Injuries - Concussions and Head Injuries: head injuries are fun for whump in that the effects can last a long time, leaving the character kept to the sidelines while they desperately want to return to the investigation. You can go as serious as permanent brain damage here if you’d like, although that’s absolutely not necessary!
• Injuries - Hiding Injury: Especially hiding the injury so they don’t have to withdraw from the field, and that coming back to bite them
• Interrogation: We see so much of the characters interrogating others, I’d love to see how they react to being the ones on the other side of the table (literally or metaphorically)
• Mental - Mental Health Issues: really anything goes here. PTSD or some sort of losing touch with reality that fits into the vague fantasy feel of In the Woods are my first thoughts here, but you can go wild
• Plot - Faking Recovery So Others Will Stop Worrying About You
• Scars: characters exploring each other’s scars during sex, scar worship, complicated feelings about scars, just art showing various scars
• Sex pollen - Experienced as horrifying loss of control/autonomy
• Torture: just fuck any of my requested characters up!
• Torture - Aftermath of Torture: I’d love to see medical care post-torture, and/or the character being comforted by a loved one
• Torture - Undercover Character Forced to Torture a Loved One: especially the guilt of having to hurt them and the needing to stay "in character" the whole time. I’d also love to see their interactions with the loved one in the aftermath. And if Rob is the one being tortured, it would be delicious if this is the first time Cassie or Rob see him after the events of In the Woods
• Trapped - Trapped in a Haunted House: maybe they’re investigating something and end up trapped inside a house overnight, with things getting gradually more and more supernatural and dangerous

Les Miserables - Victor Hugo DNW: Modern AUs

Straight-up book fic is of course amazing, but I’m also down for mixing different adaptation canons in if you like.

• Cosette Fauchelevent: Listen, Cosette’s life is so fucked up and I want to see fanworks about her being fucked up. Go with her canon horrific childhood or introduce more noncanonical trauma, everything is good!
• Marius Pontmercy: Marius also has a fucked-up childhood, and then he gets seriously injured at the barricades and all his friends die. A fertile field for whump!

• Abuse - Forced to admit to past abuse: I’m especially into Cosette or Marius reluctantly talking about the Thenardiers or Gillenormand respectively, and feeling like the abuse and/or them still being affected by it is their fault and shameful

• Codependency - "only person who could understand/accept me": so I requested this thinking of Marius/Cosette, with the two of them kind of retreating into each other after the barricades and Valjean’s death and isolating themselves more and more, maybe finding that after the first flush of love fades they’re stuck with each other and each thinking that they’re so flawed that the other is the only one who would ever put up with them. I’m totally down for it with other ships too, if you have ideas there!
• Dub/noncon: these two are my faves and I will love any and all noncon or dubcon about them! For dubcon I’m especially into trading sex for favors (maybe to get Marius or Les Amis released from prison)
• Dub/noncon – Drugged: I love the helplessness of being tranquilized or otherwise drugged and not being able to resist the attacker/s, and I also love a drug with sex-pollen qualities that increases physical arousal
• dub/noncon - first time: Cosette or Marius being a virgin when raped or dubconned, and this being their first sexual experience and possibly coloring their thoughts on sex, is so deliciously angsty

• Illness - Major Illness: there are so many possible 19th century illnesses you could inflict on them!
• Injuries - Permanently Injured: For Marius, something stemming from his injuries on the barricades would be lovely. For Cosette, I don’t have any specific ideas but I’d love to see her coping with a permanent injury post-canon and possibly feeling like she’s less worthy as a wife because of it. And for both I would really love 19th-century medical care and possibly assistive tech
• Mental - Mental Health Issues: my first thought is PTSD from the barricades or Cosette’s childhood, but anything else you’d like to go with is also great!
• Plot - Afterlife/Underworld Rescue: so Marius is the closest to dying in canon, and Cosette setting off on a journey to get him back would be so great. And for Cosette, there are a lot of ways she could die post-canon, and I’d love to see Marius just as determined to get her back as he was to win her over/track her down
• Plot - Unresolved issues from the past: my first thought here is the way the Thenardiers intertwine with both Marius and Cosette’s paths, and a gift exploring their reappearance at the end of the novel would be great (and feel free to do a canon divergence and have them get more of a comeuppance than they do in canon), but other
• PTSD - Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
• Resurrection - came back wrong: I can especially see Marius or Valjean going to great lengths to bring Cosette back and ignoring how different she is post-resurrection, or Cosette doing the same for Marius. Feel free to combine this with the Underworld Rescue prompt if you would like!
• Scars: characters exploring each other’s scars during sex, scar worship, complicated feelings about scars, just art showing various scars

I’m keeping up to date with Dark Angel as it airs, so no worries about spoilers. I haven’t read the corresponding book, however. My prompts lean towards case-focused fanworks, but please feel free to choose a different scenario! I just find it easier to make the whump happen during an investigation.

Ships I like: John/Laszlo(/Sara), Sara/Mary, Sara/any of the women in her detective agency, Sara/literally any woman, Laszlo/Dr. Stratton. (I’m not wild about Sara/John or Laszlo/Mary generally, although I’m fine with canon-compliant works mentioning either or both of these ships)

• John Moore: John gets whumped so hard in season 1 and I want way more focus on that. And season 2 is not half-bad for whump opportunities either! I especially enjoy the implications of his encounter at Paresis Hall, and his drinking problem.
• Laszlo Kreizler: One thing that interests me about bad things happening to Laszlo is that I feel like he would try to psychoanalyze himself and rid himself of irrational reactions, although it’s up to you how successful he is. I also found his professional ideas about fetishes interesting, and would love to see him shown the error of his misconceptions (and/or feeling self-loathing about his own kinks)
• Sara Howard (Alienist): I love how Sara has to be untouchable to hold her own as a woman in her field, and I’d love to see her struggling not to break down in the face of various bad things happening. I am especially enjoying how season 2 has provided a female antagonist who can menace her, if you’re down for some sexually-charged interactions and/or noncon!
